The Nonprofit Alliance of Monterey County is pleased to announce that Alfred Diaz-Infante, president and CEO of CHISPA, a private, nonprofit, affordable housing developer in Salinas, has been selected for the 2018 Perry G. Flicker Leader Award, to be presented on September 14 at the annual Nonprofit Awards Celebration.
Mr. Diaz-Infante is being honored for his leadership and accomplishments in developing low-income housing in Monterey County, his extensive collaborative efforts to create communities where families can thrive, and his contributions on the boards of many nonprofit organizations including the Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System, Hartnell College Foundation, Community Foundation for Monterey County, and more.
In previous years, recipients of the Leader Award have included Joe Grainger of the Harden Foundation, Dan Baldwin of the Community Foundation, consultant and champion of nonprofits Judy Sulsona and the late philanthropist Mr. Perry Flicker, for whom the award is now named.

The Nonprofit Awards Celebration is the only event of its kind in the region, as it recognizes the powerful collective impact of nonprofit organizations and also honors dynamic staff and their outstanding Unsung Heroes.
Acknowledgments will be presented to remarkable individuals and nonprofits that have made outstanding contributions to our community. The emphasis of the awards will be to recognize those who push us to work more collectively, to innovate, and to expand our ways of meeting the needs of Monterey County.
During the ceremony awards will be revealed and presented in the following categories: Advocacy/Social Justice, Arts & Culture, Children, Youth & Families, Education, Environment, Health Care, Human Services. Last but not least, our "UNSUNG HEROES” awards for innovation, leadership & personal achievement.
The Annual Nonprofit Awards Celebration has repeatedly attracted more than 200 guests, including civic and business leaders, nonprofit leaders and staff, as well as community supporters.
